HIS EXCELLENCY KINGSFORD AMOAKO VISITS THE GHANAIAN COMMUNITY IN OLD ROAD

His Excellency Kingsford Amoako undertook a consular visit to the Ghanaian Community in Old Road, Monrovia, to engage with the community and familiarise himself with issues affecting the community. The consular visit, which took place yesterday, Sunday 3rd December, 2023, at Old Road, drew members from the Ghanaian Descendants Association in the community. The Head of Mission was accompanied by members of Staff of the Mission, including the Head of Consular, Mr. Obed N.Y. Sarpong. During the interactions, the community members petitioned the Head of Mission to foster unity among all the various Ghanaian communities in the Liberia. They also requested Amb. Amoako to ensure the construction of a Chancery for the mission and involve Ghanaian-Liberian artisans in the process. Several other consular and welfare-related matters well discussed thoroughly. Amb. Amoako extended greetings to the community from His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, and informed the community that his mandate as the Head of Mission includes the construction of the Chancery among other challenges besetting the Mission’s operations in Liberia. According to him, the Government of Ghana considers Ghanaians abroad a priority and therefore he intends to visit all other communities in the country. The community members thanked the Head of Mission and his staff for their support to the community.
